Someone should point out to him that "self-deification" and "self-defecation" sharing all but one letter might not be a coincidence.

Look ma! No brains! (Statler and Waldorf, The Great Muppet Caper)

Well, in all fairness, he isn't selling it. It's the guys from Rice Paddy Cycles in Ohio that bought it from him originally.

I wondered about that... but the ad copy reads remarkably like the avalanche of self-fellating bullshittery characteristic of his pitch style.

Does it mention the word "cafe" 20-50 times?

I'm not going to bust the mans balls for doing quality work. I might not like, enjoy or even see the point of some of the shit he to these bikes but at least the man has some integrity in his workmanship. Some of the parts hes selling for cb750s are quality items and he's not going to short change when you buy stuff from him (unlike other shitty vendors out there.)

Bikes suck, but hell he found a niche market and it raking in the dough. I don't blame the guy, I blame the people who buy these gaudy bikes.

Update: Bear from Old Bike Barn is having Rice Paddy list it for him due to their eBay expertise.

One of the guys here locally (rebel) built a nice looking cb750 and he got some parts from Crappy. Some of it had to be modified/fixed straight out of the box. In the end the bike looks good (Webels). But if I am gonna over-pay for a bike it sure isn't going to be a cb750, and 26k is a bit out of my league.

And how many 59 stickers do you need on your ride?

You might need some checkered tape also

Slipkid says this bike is owned by Old Bike Barn, Is this the same bike that was in the Mid Ohio swap meet area two years ago?

Well. it's all too easy to be critical. I'd quit my day job, if i could put together bikes like Carpy and make a buck at it. Why not make a shit-load off of this machine? Just because y'all know better?...
I will even have a little respect for the sucker who shells out way too much for this bike. At least, a little more respect than some one who spends twice as much on a chopper. I'm sure it's all relative. In my town, some people spend more to have their yacht detailed.... more than I make in a year.

Me personally..? I don't collect anything more than empty promises. But, hey there's an entire nation... an entire generation of consumerism at work here. A failing nation of consumerism, but that's for another soapbox. But picture if you will, a gear-head in a little shop. This enterprise has some damn fine moto restoration skills and some internet savy. The end result is the working class profiteering off of the upper class. And your sorely mistaken if you think there's any class in between. I like it.

Four years ago Carpy's website inspired me to customize a $600 motorcycle. I might not like the checkered tape, but NO ONE else is making a mark like Carpy. In ten years he will be considered a cafe revival influence. This forum will likely be forgotten. It's not like the guy's cutting up valuable bikes to make some abomination. He's taking old crap and even abominations, to make a cool things.

You guys wanna keep your bikes, culture, etc. alive? Stop being so damn critical of your own ilk. Bash chopper culture all you want, but damn. When I met most of you, I had a cafe'd Suzuki GS500. There was a lowbrow, built it yo-self, run what ya brung attitude around here. What the fuck happened? It seems the only care is in the high end projects. Not that those projects don't deserve their just dues.

It would seem the forum interest is focusing more on those great bikes and less on the social aspect. "Oh ho hum another Yahnoville or Seenme 750" Y'all need to encourage these newbies to your culture. Otherwise, your gonna wonder why none of those wippersnappers care about your Ariel, Panther or Matchless. Those bikes are gonna be "so Tonup" when you have to polish them up for the Tour de Elegance.
